Now we need to transfer this information onto the keyboard wood. This &egrave; the phase where patience and precision are everything.\n\n<h3>Create the physical template<\/h3>\n\nThe sheet of paper, however precise, &egrave; not sufficient to cut the slots. We need to create a pi&ugrave; robust template.\n\n<ol>\n    <li><strong>Glue the template:<\/strong> Use a repositionable adhesive spray (like 3M Super 77, but make sure it's repositionable or you'll regret it) or a glue stick on a piece of thin plywood (like 3-4mm) or MDF. Make sure it adheres well and without bubbles. L&#8217;MDF &egrave; great because &egrave; stable and easy to cut.\n    <\/li><li><strong>Cut the template:<\/strong> With a jigsaw or a fret saw, carefully cut the plywood\/MDF following the key lines. Air bubbles and paper that swelled, ruining the precision. Since then, only quality adhesive spray. It's a small detail, but it makes a huge difference.\n\n<h3>Transfer the lines onto the fretboard<\/h3>\n\nNow we have our wooden template. It's time to use it on the actual fretboard.\n\n<ol>\n    <li><strong>Prepare the fretboard:<\/strong> Make sure the piece of wood for the fretboard is perfectly flat and square.\n    <\/li><li><strong>Position the template:<\/strong> Align the template on the fretboard with extreme care. The best way is to secure it with strong double-sided tape or small clamps, making sure it doesn't move at all. The center of the template must be aligned with the center of the fretboard.\n    <\/li><li><strong>Mark the lines:<\/strong> Use a sharp scribing point or a very fine pencil (e.g., 0.3mm) to mark the fret lines through the template slots. Don't press too hard, but enough to leave a clear and visible mark. Some prefer to use a cutter to lightly score the lines, but you need to be very delicate.\n    <\/li><li><strong>Check:<\/strong> Remove the template and check all the lines. Are they straight? Are they at the correct distance? This is your last check before picking up the saw.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n<h3>Cutting the fret slots: the moment of truth<\/h3>\n\nQuesta &egrave; la parte pi&ugrave; delicata e, se fatta male, la pi&ugrave; difficile da correggere. Do not go too deep, otherwise you risk weakening the fretboard or, worse, hitting the truss rod.\n    <\/li><li><strong>Cut calmly:<\/strong> Position the fretboard, align the saw with the line you have drawn, and using the angled guide, start cutting. Make light and uniform passes. Do not force it. Let the saw do its work. Each fret will have a slightly different angle, so you will need to adjust the guide for each cut.\n    <\/li><li><strong>Test with the fretwire:<\/strong> After cutting a slot, try inserting a small piece of fretwire to see if it fits well and if the depth is correct.
