  • Joyo D-Seed II / Digital Delay: Joyo is a brand that offers amazing value for money. The D-Seed II, for example, offers several digital modes at a ridiculous price. Durability is good for the price, my Joyo pedals in the garage have withstood drops and mistreatment.
  • Behringer VD400 Vintage Delay: If you're looking for a super cheap analog delay, the VD400 is a clone of the Boss DM-2. Pedals with superior quality circuits, both analog and digital, often with advanced features such as modulation, external or internal tap tempo, and sometimes even the possibility to store some presets. The construction is solid, built to last.

  • MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay: A classic. Warm and organic sound, with integrated modulation. It's a robust pedal, mine has withstood countless sessions and transports. It's a safe investment for an analog delay.
  • Boss DD-8 Digital Delay: If you are looking for digital versatility, the DD-8 is an excellent choice. Eight delay modes, integrated looper, tap tempo, stereo. Boss pedals are known for their indestructibility, and the DD-8 is no exception. A true “workhorse”.

For those who want a compact but powerful pedal, the Canyon is an excellent choice.

High Budget (over 250€): The Paradise of Sounds and Features

Here we enter the realm of boutique pedals, of multi-effect processors specific for delay, and of machines that offer the ultimate in terms of sound quality and functionality. They are not for everyone, but for those looking for the best, they are investments that pay off.

What to Expect

Uncompromising sound quality, a myriad of ultra-sophisticated delay algorithms, advanced programming possibilities, presets, MIDI, stereo in/out and often also USB connectivity for firmware updates. The construction is always excellent.

Examples and Added Value

  • Strymon TimeLine / Volante / El Capistan: Strymon is a reference name. The TimeLine is a "delay workstation" with 12 types of delay, 200 presets, MIDI.
