There are countless variants: Cry Baby 535Q: It allows to adjust the Q-factor and the frequency range, offering enormous versatility. It's a leap in quality for those seeking more control. Signature Models: Hendrix, Kirk Hammett, Slash… each with a specific voicing, often based on particular inductors (like the red or yellow “Fasel”) or modified circuits to replicate an artist's sound. Used: Dunlop Cry Baby GCB-95 or Vox V845/V847: With a little patience and searching on online marketplaces or used stores, you can find a GCB-95 or a Vox at prices between 50 and 90 euros. They are robust pedals, and even if the potentiometer might scratch (as in my first purchase), it's a simple and inexpensive repair to do in the garage. What to check: Make sure the pedal moves freely and the switch works. A scratching pot is manageable, a stuck pedal or a broken switch are more serious problems. Test it with your guitar if possible.
